Well, let's just say my life has been one grand adventure and thanks to several great mentors, I possess a unique skill set. I grew up in the Yakima Valley on a small farm and learned how to work. I fed cows, moved sprinkler lines, cut asparagus, and picked cherries, apples, and occasionally apricots. Cherries was my specialty:)After graduating from Kiona-Benton High School in 1978, I attended Central Washington University and graduated in 1983 with a BA in Business Education. While there, I was mentored by Professor Charles Guatney. A man of many diverse talents, he taught me how to repair IBM typewriters and helped me get a job on campus where I was in charge of repairing and maintaining all the typewriters on the CWU campus. I learned many things from Charles including the importance of great customer service; paying attention to detail; and how to be an effective entrepreneur.While finishing up my degree, I met my future wife, Candace:) While courting her, I was offered a business education job in Goldendale and the day after our marriage moved to Goldendale, WA. We have been here since 1983 where I coached a variety of sports for over 20 years; have been the Future Business Leaders of America advisor for 30 years; and have been a real estate agent/broker since 2006. We have two children who are in college.I enjoy the outdoors and hunt and fish every opportunity I get. I have also raised Small Munsterlanders for the past eight years. These elegant versatile hunting dogs have been a great addition to our family.I feel my background and training gives me an edge when it comes to representing clients in the real estate world.When it comes time to retire from teaching, a new adventure will await. What that is, I don't know but until then I will continue to enjoy working with high school students and meeting the real estate needs of my clients.
