ROBERTA ANDERSON, DNP, PMHN, OCN with over 25 years of experience is the Clinical Program Director for Radiation Oncology and Molecular Sciences. Oversees nursing practice and programs across the Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Sciences located at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Bayview Hospital, Suburban, and Greenspring clinic. Works closely with the Departmental Vice Chair of Quality and Safety and oversees safety reports and events across all the radiation oncology sites. Also works with the Epic Clinical Design Team addressing workflow issues with the goal of promoting safety and efficiency in patient care and documentation practices. Nursing experience includes: mental health nursing, clinical nursing instructor, emergency medicine, professional practice, oncology, has worked on numerous publications. Currently presents at the Johns Hopkins Nursing Institute: topics include: Managing Change/Transition and Servant Leadership. Has a special interest in the wellness of not only patients, but also caregivers and staff. Was the lead investigator for a Hopkins original research pilot study examining stress levels in nursing staff and the use of yoga as a mechanism to cope with stress. The study was published in the JACM, prompting an invitation to present at the Harvard Medical Academic Center. Interests in wellness work continued as the Principal Investigator focusing on the benefits of physical activity in patients diagnosed with cancer. Successfully completed doctorate in 2018. Obtained nursing certifications in both Psychiatry and Oncology.
