As founder and CEO of the growing nonprofit Telecom4Good, I use my passion for technology to support humanitarian and development work around the world. I have 20+ years of experience with global communications and have built a network of hundreds of nonprofit leaders to give me an understanding of international business operations and mission-based programs. My personal goal is to solve telecommunications problems for NGOs globally. I lead Telecom4Good within a framework of using technology for good to support NGO staff and programs through IT solutions, equipment, cost savings, and strategies. Telecom4Good started with the flagship Bandwidth Aggregation Program in Africa and Southeast Asia, which connects NGOs with internet service providers for less expensive, more reliable internet. Since then, weโve grown exponentially through strategic partnerships with NGOs, ISPs, and Cisco Meraki. All our programs and services are based on collaboration to maximize impact and minimize costs.Besides supporting NGOs, we also have programs that directly support communities. For example, our School and Health Center Technology Program provides internet connection directly to these centers of change in rural Africa at no cost to the community. Our latest focus is on launching and growing the Refugee Workforce Development Program in Uganda, which is built on strong NGO partnerships and provides refugees with online skills-based learning in order for them to work in the humanitarian sector. No matter what we do at Telecom4Good, I keep the principle of impact through technology as the driving force.
