Participate in the design, implementation, management and maintenance of UNIX and LINUX systems. Implement and support projects dealing with Information Technology Infrastructures. Including network switches, DNS, IDS, VPN networks, Load Balancers, and other network resources used to create a highly-available, cost effective and secure network.Design and implement, manage and maintain web serversDevelop and maintain software and hardware asset inventory including managing software licensing and associated technology audits and compliance requirements.Accountable for Security updates and patches for all systemsInstall and maintain UNIX and LINUX servers including REDHAT distributions(standard and custom)Conduct performance tuning, system security/hardening, IO monitoring and analysis.Configure and support high availability systems, firewalls, SAN, clustering and virtualization.Ensure all servers have full documentation including backup and recovery plansEnsure all servers are successfully being backed up nightly/weekly and sent off siteDevelop understanding of the Business needs and the associated capabilities of current systems and networks in place.Develop, maintain, test and implement business continuity plans for small or large-scale eventsPartner with Network Administrators, Developers and other Technicians in resolving problems with programs, hardware and other equipment, and network connectivityDesign and analyze the output from monitoring tools of the computing infrastructure to identify and react to trends and incidentsParticipate in the development and publication of policies, procedures for System Security, End Users and System Access.Accountable for the execution of systems and security policiesStay abreast of and apply new technologies and advancements in existing technologiesImplement continuous improvements to the computing environment and the system administration function through the incorporation of best practices
