Committed to advancing patient-centred treatment, research and policy for individuals, families and communities living with addiction and serious mental disorders. Responsible for providing science-based policy to guidance to elected officials and their staff; federal agencies; non-governmental organisations; and others on a range of addiction and mental health policy issues. Previously responsible for the development of patient and provider education clinical resources; interaction with national key opinion leaders in addiction and serious mental illness; and conducted addiction research informed by real world practice and challenges. Opened and managed numerous treatment centres. Author of numerous addiction-related academic and professional publications and developer of clinical and practice innovations. Previous appointments faculty appointments at University of Pennsylvania Departmwnt of Psychiatry/Addiction Medicine. NiDA funded research on quality improvement, 12 Step oriented recovery, therapeutic alliance, internet drug dealing, treatment culture, and medications development. In 2006 joined Alkermes Medical Affairs Department and now working in Government Affairs and Policy.
