Quantified the level of comfort experienced when wearing earplugs in an effort to reduce the prevalence of noise induced hearing loss. • Assessed and characterised the friction between materials and the human body to improve their design. • Helped to supervise and manage research projects of several undergraduate and MSc students.

• Developed and analysed polymer formulations used to produce high quality vinyl flooring.

• Improved the design of Team GB's Olympic rugby wheelchairs. Achieved through the surface treatment of polypropylene and applying a durable adhesive coating to spoke protectors. The findings are still used to optimise the production procedure.
