Key achievements During my time here, I have gone from having absolutely no knowledge of the metal recycling industry, to being a key part of the management team. As such, I am regularly consulted on important decisions regarding the day to day and future operations of the yard. The Goose was a very busy pub, situated just off the main shopping street, in the very centre of Northampton. While there, I worked as part of what had to be a very efficient team, to provide good quality bar service to people from all different backgrounds. My role also included the general upkeep of the pub (front of house and behind the scenes).

During a period of down time with Centre of Attraction, I joined the team at The Hind as a bar tender, responsible for serving drinks and some basic waitering service. Unfortunately, the hotel lost their bar manager a few weeks after I started. Not wanting to see the bar closed, I offered to take over with running it until they could find a replacement. I had to learn all about stock control, negotiating with suppliers and how to correctly price products, completely from scratch. I also worked as night porter for the last few weeks of my employment there.
