Robert J. Cody, M.B.A., M.D., is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hunterdon Healthcare System. In 2018, he served as Interim President and CEO of Hunterdon Healthcare System. During that time he successfully advanced the organization, and led the search committee that expeditiously recruited the current President and CEO.Dr. Cody is a licensed Cardiologist. He received his B.S. degree from St. Joseph’s University, a M.B.A. degree from the University of Michigan, and a M.D. degree from Penn State University. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and a Cardiovascular Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.Dr. Cody has held senior executive positions in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, with Merck, Johnson & Johnson, and CVRx. Throughout his academic and industry career, his cardiovascular research was applied to early- and late-stage programs, bringing new therapies to large scale clinical study. Dr. Cody also directed strategic planning, licensing and merger and acquisitions projects. Before joining the pharmaceutical/medical device industry, Dr. Cody was Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School and Health System. He was Associate Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Disease, and Director of the Heart Failure & Heart Transplant Management Program. He also chaired, or was a member of executive University of Michigan Health System committees. Prior to the University of Michigan, he held similar positions at The Ohio State University Medical Center, and Weil-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. He has published more than 250 original research publications, review articles and book chapters.In addition to previous awards, Dr. Cody received the 2018 Edward Bradley Medical Alumni Award of St. Joseph’s University. Dr. Cody is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association.
