Recording secretary for several House of Representatives committees, notably the the House Judiciary Standing Committee. I was responsible for recording, transcribing, and composing detailed minutes of committee meetings for the official legislative record. It was always understood that my time in Alaska would be short and I couldn't have asked for a better experience to help me learn about one of the nation's most distinctly fascinating states.

I oversaw all front of house operations for one of Washington's premiere performing arts companies. This included the coordination of hundreds of volunteer ushers, supervision of approx. 12-15 house management staff, organization of accessibility initiatives in compliance with ADA, and management of performance operations at both the Sidney Harman Hall and Lansburgh Theatre. My favorite parts of the job were meeting some of the most eclectic, interesting people in all Washington DC (the ushers!) and making PA announcements that alway got a chuckle from the concessions staff.

This was a temporary full-time position for the summer while a member of the HR team was on maternity leave. It allowed me the opportunity to learn more about Human Resources operations and to work for the Folger Shakespeare Library, which was a wonderful experience. I performed administrative assistant, receptionist, and office assistant duties for the HR department. I fielded all incoming calls - including from people who only wanted to speak at length about Measure For Measure - and assisted with various HR tasks, such as scheduling interviews, hiring, onboarding, and handling benefits information.

Big Think is a knowledge forum focused on sharing significant, relevant, and applicable ideas from a growing network of professional experts ranging from scientists like Bill Nye and Michio Kaku to politicians & social thinkers like Cory Booker and Sam Harris. From 2014 to 2016, I contributed nearly 1,000 bylined articles as well as other uncredited website copy. I was also responsible for social media operations, which involved overseeing the official Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts. My articles specialized in news aggregation and focused on the topics of self-improvement, history, sports analytics, innovation, and introspection.Additional responsibilities included writing copy throughout the site, tagging posts, handling metadata, new writer training, and utilization of Trello and other task management apps.Notable figures that I have profiled include Bill Nye, Michio Kaku, Barbara Corcoran, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, David Stern, Walter Isaacson, Barney Frank, Diamond Dallas Page, and Roberto Unger.

I completely revamped the way Studio organized and built relationships with their volunteer ushers. This included major database work in Tessitura to clean up Studio's volunteer constituency, sweeping changes in the way shifts were assigned, and the planning/execution of the theatre's first Usher Appreciation luncheon. My volunteers were my favorite part of the job and I am proud many of them considered Studio to be the best ushering gig in town. The other half of my responsibilities involved overseeing front of house operations. This included managing the theatre during performances, supervising part-time assistants, and training volunteer ushers. Additional duties included concessions stock and inventory, daily cashflow and deposits, payroll and billing, and ADA compliance.

I contributed to the company's day-to-day operations in the following ways: selling tickets, spearheading communications efforts, production marketing, development & grant writing, casting & scouting, managing social media accounts, and season planning. I assisted in the building of the current Theater Alliance website and carrying the company's social media presence into the 21st century.

Though the job title was intern, this was a part-time Development position which consisted of grant writing, conducting market research, and performing basic administrative tasks for a small children's publishing company. Several of my proposals during my tenure at Cascade Pass resulted in corporate funding for children's books. I also contributed conceptual work for magazine features and television show proposals.
