I am currently the Program Director for Hospitality and Tourism here at Bond. The courses I teach exhibit many examples of best practice and innovation, ranging from field trips through to industry speakers and innovative forms of assessment. The modules I have taught are varied and serve to highlight my diversity in terms of delivering a range of different subjects to a wide range of student/client groups. Over the last five years I have been involved in 8 - 10 modules ranging through, Global Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Event Personnel, Strategic Management for Hospitality and Tourism and HRM to Dissertation supervisions at all levels – UG, PG and PhD.

I moved to Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Michigan, where I was Associate Professor in the HTM department and my roles include teaching, student supervision and developing a viable research agenda for the department.

I was at Robert Gordon University (RGU) for 15 years where I worked in the Marketing department of the Business School and was Course Leader for the MSc International Tourism Management. In addition, I made a significant contribution to the development of both the UG and the PG courses, as well as to the successful growth of student numbers to the MSc course. Upon arriving at RGU from Switzerland one of the first tasks required of me was to develop a tourism undergraduate programme. As such I was responsible for writing the modules, the module content as well as leading the development, research and administration through to a successful validation. The course is now a very successful and profitable contributor to Aberdeen Business School’s portfolio. Following on from the success of the under graduate course I was in charge of developing an MSc/PGdip course in International Tourism Management. Within two years of the launch of this course we developed an Open Learning (on line) version and I was Course Leader for both the Full Time and the Open Learning programs.

The Institut Hotelier Cesar Ritz is one of the premier hotel schools in Switzerland. I was there for two years during which time I taught a range of subjects including marketing and tourism and I was deputy course leader.

I was here on an internship program whilst studying at New Hampshire College and I was employed as a Food and Beverage Supervisor and a chef

This is where I began my teaching career at after several years working in industry. I taught a range of subjects and was course leader for one of the vocational programs.

I was Head Chef for Deansway Catering and the work involved the provision of food to over 600 army cadets.

I was head barman and Manager at this busy city pub in Birmingham

I was responsible for the successful opertaion and running of this popular restaurant in the Forest of Dean for or two years.

I worked here for three years. I started out as a houseman but I was promoted to supervisor.
