I am a UK citizen with permanent residency in Australia. I am currently employed as Associate Professor in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism here in Business Faculty at Bond University. I have had an international career history in both industry and academic institutions. My industrial experience has taken me to several countries, in both roles as manager and proprietor. I have worked in several different academic institutions and some of these are considered to be amongst the best hospitality and tourism education providers in Europe.

I am currently the Program Director for Hospitality and Tourism here at Bond. The courses I teach exhibit many examples of best practice and innovation, ranging from field trips through to industry speakers and innovative forms of assessment. The modules I have taught are varied and serve to highlight my diversity in terms of delivering a range of different subjects to a wide range of student/client groups. Over the last five years I have been involved in 8 - 10 modules ranging through, Global Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Event Personnel, Strategic Management for Hospitality and Tourism and HRM to Dissertation supervisions at all levels – UG, PG and PhD.

Upon arriving at RGU from Switzerland one of the first tasks required of me was to develop a tourism undergraduate programme. As such I was responsible for writing the modules, the module content as well as leading the development, research and administration through to a successful validation. The course is now a very successful and profitable contributor to Aberdeen Business School’s portfolio. Following on from the success of the under graduate course I was in charge of developing an MSc/PGdip course in International Tourism Management. Within two years of the launch of this course we developed an Open Learning (on line) version and I was Course Leader for both the Full Time and the Open Learning programs.
