My interests over the past few years (really since joining HOSTING in 2013) have been focused on the “art” of Datacenter transformation, and integrating my past experiences in software development, architecture, and operations with all of the technology options available to business today. I use the term “art”, because this skill set truly has evolved into an art form – as there is no single solution that fits all needs, and interpreting business needs and transforming those needs into the correct solution has become quite complex. In the early days, it was all about hardware selection – and this was critical, as an incorrect selection could be extremely expensive and time-consuming to correct. Then came virtualization, and the associated flexibility. Hardware was still a factor, but less critical as individual servers could be destroyed and recreated with relative ease … making it easier to correct design mistakes. Today, there remains all of the traditional options along with such evolutionary options as Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS) and now Function as a Service (FaaS).Primary focus on providing guidance to our customers and prospects with Public Cloud solutions with emphasis on:• Tight alignment to business objectives. • Adherence to the AWS Framework and best practices wherever possible:o 5 Pillarso Scalability, Reliability, Availabilityo Cost efficiency• Focus on automation or “Infrastructure as Code”.• Push up the stack (FaaS, SaaS, PaaS, etc ..) – With objective of minimizing aspects of daily care.

Selected appropriate J2EE Server and UI development tools. Lead team in early designs to ensure that code was being developed effectively.
