17 years of experience in Education with the majority of time spent in Secondary Math.Within those 17 years, I have experience as a classroom teacher, NIET TAP master teacher, and district coordinator.Most recently, I have joined the NIET Team and am specifically working with the AREN Partnership (Arkansas Rural Educator Network). As a senior specialist, I have the pleasure of supporting rural Arkansas school districts with strength-based coaching, principal leadership, and high-quality curriculum resources. In 2017, I began facilitating with Illustrative Mathematics as a certified facilitator where I have enjoyed helping new and experienced teachers find more effective methods for teaching mathematics and using an aligned Tier 1 curriculum.As a district math coordinator, I have had with opportunity to train with ACT coaches, Illustrative Math facilitators (6-HS), and Math Learning Center Bridges (K-5). Another aspect of my job is helping schools set goals and progress monitor student achievement as it aligns with state and district goals. My favorite experiences include coaching and supporting teachers and getting the opportunity to "borrow" classes and teach students math at any age.
