I was hired at GovPilot with the core objective to develop and adopt the necessary processes, technology, and discipline to take the company to the next level. My primary areas of focus were application development and security. My secondary focus was on general operations and human resources. GovPilot is growing quickly from a small- to a medium-sized SAAS company, so the role was an interesting mix of strategy, leadership, management, technology, and individual contributor work. The Application Development Manager was a consulting role within the Microsoft Premier business unit. In this role, I provided consulting services to large financial services and pharmaceutical companies in the New York City area. I developed the architecture for the financial model integration module of the largest IT project at S&P Global Ratings (a complete redevelopment of the ratings workflow system). I collaborated with the project owner and IT partners to gather the business requirements and designed custom integrations for various legacy financial model platforms. I developed all of the core architecture, from complex design to low-level APIs, and presented it to IT/business leadership for approval. Key Achievements:    ●        I developed all aspects of architecture for the financial model integration component.     ●        I partnered with Enterprise Architecture to ensure compliance with best practices.    ●        I developed proof of concepts to test and validate key parts of the proposed architecture.

In this role I oversaw a variety of financial model management projects, the largest of which was an end-to-end credit rating platform that delivered dramatic efficiency/consistency improvements. I was accountable for architecture and design decisions as well as delivery of complex functionality across a diverse variety of technologies.Key Achievements:    ●        I delivered a “first of its kind” credit rating platform on deadline, leveraging Agile to coordinate                  the work of six scrum teams distributed across three companies and two continents.    ●        I reduced our analysts’ manual requirement by 1,700 hours, saving S&P ~$1.2M, through the                  design and delivery of a financial model testing framework.    ●        I achieved an estimated savings of $3M+/year by delivering a ratings workflow system that                 streamlined and standardized ratings process for state/local governments.    ●        I played a key role in adjusting our model policy in response to a new regulation.     ●        I served as Delivery Manager for teams of up to 50 members, including developers, business                  analysts, and QA staff.

As Lead Developer/Delivery Manager, I directed the development of S&P’s Quant Engine (a financial model platform) from end to end, managing a team of eight developers and leveraging my financial model integration expertise to coach collaborating IT teams. I defined the project scope, selected/retained talent, wrote statements of work, and allocated duties, all while holding accountability for system architecture and technical deliverables. Key Achievements:    ●        I redesigned the Quant Engine to be multi-tiered, cross-platform and scalable (supported 30+                  financial models)    ●        I enhanced C++/MATLAB model integration through the introduction of configuration-driven                 architecture.    ●        I created the enterprise data standard for model I/O, a rich object model, and a flexible API for                 straightforward integration with client applications.    ●        I received a corporate achievement award for my collaboration with quantitative analysts on                  new surveillance and reporting infrastructure to monitor financial models in production.

I was promoted to Senior Developer from Lead Developer in 2003 in recognition of my creative solutions and leadership skills. In both roles, I designed internal and external n-tier web applications (front end/back end/database) to provide end users with data and financial models for assessing credit risk. As Senior Developer, I led development teams through the entire project lifecycle, including inception, elaboration, construction, and transition.Key Achievements:    ●        I partnered with business stakeholders, architecture, data, QA, and network teams to bring                 CreditRiskTracker.com from concept to mature web application.    ●        I spearheaded the successful migration of CreditModel.com from third-party to internal                  financial models, saving S&P $100K+ over the product life.Additional experience as Java Developer for professional services firm, Context Integration.
