I am a lawyer now specialising in data protection and data privacy, working as a a Managing Information Governance Consultant. Previously, I undertook work on personal injury claims in public liability and employers' liability, data protection claims and civil claims generally. I obtained a law degree and undertook professional qualifications to become a Chartered Legal Executive, specialising in Employment Law and Civil Litigation. Now, I am one of the founding members of Information Governance Services (IGS) and help manage, build and expand the firm to new heights. I use my skills obtained as a lawyer to help me deliver expert advice as a consultant, and work with organisations to be compliant with Data Protection legislation and have suitable operational practices and procedures. I am a subject matter expert in the GDPR, UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and the PECR. Currently, in my role as an IG consultant, I provide advice and services on all areas of data protection and provide support services to IGS' clients, including as a designated Data Protection Officer. I have vast experience with data protection impact assessments, drafting data processing and sharing agreements, drafting transparency materials, reviewing and managing incidents and breaches, reviewing and responding to data subject rights requests and freedom of information requests, drafting reports and presenting to senior stakeholders and providing data privacy advice generally.I deliver a flexible range of services to clients across a wide range of industries, but specialise in providing support to the public and healthcare sector, including the NHS. I have experience in building data privacy and governance frameworks for start-ups as well as honing and refining data privacy and governance frameworks for SMEsIn my role, I provide IG training to organisations and manage a team of data privacy professionals. I am responsible for project management and project delivery. I am passionate about building great relationships with colleagues and clients and pride myself on delivering quality advice and services.
