As a global citizen raised in vibrant metropolises like Seoul, Hong Kong, and Boston, I've always seen the cityscape as my greatest classroom.In the winter of 2023, I returned to my roots in Seoul to conduct an in-depth ethnographic study on urban development and its profound societal impacts on diverse Korean communities. My research, culminating in my honors thesis, "Remaking of Urban Seoul," delves into the intricate dynamics of gentrification, a subject I am particularly passionate about.Beyond academia, I've observed a significant correlation between urban development and Seoul's low fertility rate, which has sparked my dedication to addressing these pressing urban challenges.This May, I graduated with Cum Laude with a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology (with honors) and a B.S. in Advertising, equipped with a unique interdisciplinary perspective. Building upon this foundation, I am excited to embark on the next chapter of my academic journey at New York University, pursuing a Master's in Urban/Regional Planning. My goal is to leverage this expertise to design and implement innovative solutions for creating sustainable, inclusive cities.
