Audio Lab Manager @ Meta Reality Labs
CurrentOne part Audio Lab Management, one part OperationsConcierge level lab management. From ground-up lab construction, to experimental design, to day to day operations. My role is to enable research.Responsible for world class audio labs across 5 buildings, including several anechoic chambers. I sourced, purchased and implemented a comprehensive inventory and booking system for lab spaces and equipment. Responsible for the upkeep of seven-figures worth of proprietary research equipment and a similar value of off the shelf gear. Designed, set up and operated test systems for Ph.D. level researchers.Responsible for multiple special projects, including lab remodels/reconfigurations, group building move, and facility upgrades. Group representative to the EHS Safety Team, as well as company certified in Lock-Out/Tag Out and electrical/mechanical safety.Solely responsible for upkeep and improvement of purpose-built equipment valued well into seven-figures.Owner of cross-functional relationships with facilities, other lab managers, procurement, security, operations, finance, and more.Managed team storage across multiple buildings as well as offsite storage at vendor facilities.Worked with counterparts in finance to complete projects benefitting the team, including lab improvements and expansions. I manage multiple "blanket purchase orders" for lab use, and use them to make rapid purchases in support of the hardware and research teams. In addition, for projects outside the BPO process, I turn requests into actionable purchase requests.Responsible for safety plans for all audio labs, equipment and shops, in partnership with the Environmental Health and Safety team.
