My career started in the retail sector, heading up the implementation of automated stock ordering systems to improve operational efficiency. Having relocated in 2000, I diversified into facilities management for one of the UK’s largest rail companies. These roles enabled me to utilise my passion for people and process whilst learning invaluable project management skills.A deeply rooted belief of mine is that a process or strategy can be built and implemented, but without good project management skills and an understanding and appreciation of others’ needs, it is set to fail. This appreciation is why I pride myself on putting people first and being a critical friend and listening ear. I believe that a supportive environment where people feel safe, creates openness, honesty, and trust. This, in turn, leads to greater success for the business and the fulfilment and happiness of those who are part of it.Coupled with a genuine interest in people, this belief led me to become an accredited practitioner of the Insights Discovery model of behaviour.
