Rob is a results-driven Entrepreneur, Software Developer and Mechanical Engineering Grad, who possesses strong design, analytical and programming skills. In 2015 Rob founded Virtex Edge Design, a software & video game development company, which has produced a number of products ranging from 2D Mobile puzzle games and upcoming 3D Desktop Sandbox Games to 3D Javascript web tools. To expedite and simplify development, A flexible cross-platform game engine was designed, based over the open source MonoGame Framework. Features include sandbox level editor, graphical rendering pipeline, skinnable & customizable user interface, entity and asset management as well as integration of 3rd party physics & networking libraries. By writing flexible and adaptable code which could scale resources and adapt graphical and logic settings for different platforms and hardware configurations, it allows for fast prototyping and to create games quickly with support for PC, OSX, Linux, iOS and Android all with a single engine code base. Writing code such as this demands an organized code structure, strong 3D math skills as well as integrating a multitude of different debug and testing tools to measure and optimise performance on each platform.Rob has also worked within the Oil&Gas, Nuclear and Aerospace sectors, on a multitude of projects ranging from fire protection systems of nuclear power stations to stress design of aircraft structural components. Rob’s past academic project experience includes thermodynamic/CAD design of a small two spool jet engine for a remote controlled model aircraft, composite material fatigue testing system/actuator & a double piston actuator for part manufacturing. Rob’s solid educational experience in conjunction with his strong motivation and leadership skills, make him a welcome addition to any team.
