I love helping more people have fun on their bikes, and feel confident about riding on their own terms. I work across different areas of cycling – from teaching people to ride a bike, to starting commuting or riding on the road, all the way through to racing and beyond. I’m a huge advocate for women’s cycling and racing – I was recently announced as one of Cycling UK’s 100 Women in Cycling 2020. I coach individuals, working on their cycle skills and endurance. I work with Islington and Cycle Confident to deliver Bikeability training across London, and I work at Lee Valley Velopark to deliver track, road and children's coaching. I work with London Cycle Campaign to lead rides, workshops and events. I volunteer at Herne Hill Velodrome and with Velociposse Cycle Club to promote and develop Women's Cycling.

Velociposse is a cycling club open to all women and non-binary adults, regardless of experience or ability. We push for inclusivity, diversity and representation in the cycling world, and our mission is to get more women into cycling, especially for sport. We believe that cycling on your own terms is important, and we provide a safe space to try things out – whether that means getting on a bike for the first time in years, or training for your first race. As a club, and individuals, we value positivity, encouragement, progress, and fun.I have been on the committee for Velociposse since November 2018, fulfilling various roles including Funding Officer and head of the committee, before settling on the role of Development Officer.In this role I head up the coaching programme and have developed a series of weekly beginner, intermediate and advanced skills workshops that focus on improving bike handling skills and confidence for different scenarios based on a rider's current skill level and goals. I also focus on outreach to make sure that we're not just talking to women who already love cycling, but also those who are interested but haven't found the right opportunity to join in yet.I collaborated with Lee Valley Velodrome and British Cycling Eastern in Autumn 2019 on a series of race-focused workshops on the road circuit culminating in a novice race. Around 60 women took part in the training and 25 came to the race, making it one of the most highly attended women's races at that venue. Many had never felt confident enough to participate in a race before, and gained the skills and confidence to do so at these sessions. The plans to repeat the workshops twice yearly were put on hold due to Coronavirus, however will be returning as soon as we are able.

This role encompassed delivering several high-profile events: a 200th Anniversary of the Bicycle celebration in three prominent sites in the City of London, London Cycling Campaign (LCC)’s London Cycling Awards showcasing the best in cycling to business, government and industry partners in the City of London’s Guildhall, and FreeCycle in association with Ride London.I returned to LCC in a freelance capacity in summer 2019 to launch their first takeover of the Urban Hill Climb, which was highly successful and had double the amount of women entering the race than in previous years.

I am the Co-Founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of SALT. Magazine, a biannual journal of contemporary art and feminism. The 10th issue, featuring international artists, writers and academics, will be launching in Summer 2018. SALT. is a printed journal that provides a platform to explore the political within art and culture. I research and develop themes for each issue, commission articles, and edit content. Deptford X is an annual festival of contemporary art focused on new work by emerging artists in pubic space, I support the development and delivery of the main Festival programme with strategy, research, production, evaluation and public programmes, working closely with the Director and trustees. Due to the initiative I displayed and my pro-active work ethic I moved into a senior role within the organisation as Festival Manager in May 2016. As Manager, I was responsible for the development and delivery of our communications and marketing plans including the overhaul of our website, and writing and editing all copy for communications including, newsletters, social media and website updates. I led on the organisation of public events, community liaison, volunteer recruitment and management of the Festival Assistant.

– I worked closely with Cynthia Corbett, Director, and Celia Kinchington, Gallery Manager, in this small yet busy gallery. – Assisted in producing and curating booths at art fairs including VOLTA (NY) & The London Art Fair.– Collated and edited artists’ statements, wrote press releases in the house style.– Handled the logistics of press materials at art fairs, including price lists and contact collection.– Assisting with exhibitions and events including Young Masters Art Prize, Old Truman Brewery, Luis Barba, Courtauld Institute of Art; launch of the Cynthia Corbett Art Consultancy, Cork Street. – General duties including liaising with clients and artists; assisting installations in galleries and clients’ homes; as well as a wide variety of gallery administration including invoices, sales material and press.
