Roger Cerda recently joined San Diego Gas & Electric Company's legal department as Senior Counsel. Roger's practice primarily focuses on regulatory matters before the California Public Utilities Commission. Prior to joining SDG&E, Roger was a partner at Alston & Bird LLP, were he was a member of the firm's Litigation & Trial Practice Team, Environment, Land Use & Natural Resources Team, Products Liability Team and Insurance Team. His practice focused on complex commercial litigation, environmental litigation, product liability claims and insurance coverage disputes. He also represented clients in environmental litigation as well as regulatory and administrative matters involving hazardous waste soil and groundwater contamination, oil and gas, water rights, sanitation, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and California’s Proposition 65. Roger has substantial trial experience, having served as lead counsel on numerous jury and bench trials, and has also argued before the California Courts of Appeal.
