The Holston Conference covers East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and a portion of North Georgia, serving over 900 local United Methodist churches, 3 institutions of higher education and several other related institutions and ministries. The Foundation provides investment management, planned giving services and stewardship educational resources. Grew FDN from $25 million in assets under management to $125 million, not including dozens of expectancies through a variety of planned gifts.

Served as director of development, assistant vice chancelllor, vice chancellor and finally vice president of development and alumni relations at the region's only academic medical center. Basically built a very small one-person development program into a very successful and visible program within the community and university.

Served as the first regional representative for ALSAC in the southern regional office in Memphis before being promoted to Assistant regional director and finally moving to Atlanta to head the regional office in Atlanta. Helped develop the radiothon concept as well as pioneering telephone recruitment for small town special events. Produced the first Memphis telethon for St. Jude.
