Helping SMMEs develop their online presence using new platforms with e-commerce options and targeted marketing. This gave me great exposure to clients outside of the corporate environment and the chance to understand how their needs differ. This role took away the comfort of having a technical team to rely on and a sales team to source clients for me. Through cold calling, social-media marketing, and bulk email, I built up a small client base to test our products. I taught myself how to use Adobe’s Business Catalyst platform, and became proficient in using their bulk email distribution facility.
