I was tasked with developing new indicators for stock prices using news articles and company's annual SEC filings. I had hands on experience with modern machine learning algorithms like Latent Dirichlet Allocation, Latent Semantic Indexingand Nonnegative Matrix factorization for topic modelling. Using the topics extracted from news articles and SEC filings along with their sentiment score were used as features for the stock prices. I also worked on a small outlier detection problem using Kmeans and Isolation Forest algorithms. I was chosen for a pre placement offer for my work during the internship.

Provided machine learning based solutions like email classification, topic tagging, text summarization and improving search to be incorporate into their different products. Developed an email classifier using a variety of machine learning algorithms and techniques like Neural Networks, decision trees, RandomForest, Naive Bayes, GBM, SVC etc. Initially implemented the classifier on Amazon SageMaker. Later used emails indexed by Apache Solr to train the machine learning model. Also developed a general purpose web application using Flask where any user can upload their training data and have their own classifier.
