Vanuit RB Konnekt werk ik als zelfstandig adviseur en onderzoeker, op het gebied van diversiteit, gelijkwaardigheid, inclusie (DGI) en interculturele samenwerking. Ik zet me vanuit mijn streven naar rechtvaardigheid, gelijkwaardigheid en menselijkheid in voor een inclusieve en gelijkwaardige samenleving door organisaties te helpen. Want ik geloof erin dat een inclusieve samenleving gevormd wordt door zowel individuen als de systemen die we samen maken en hebben gemaakt, vaak in de vorm van organisaties. Ik gebruik daarbij mijn expertise in DGI en interculturele communicatie en organisatieverandering. Zo help ik organisaties in onderzoek, begeleiding van visievorming, workshops en trainingen en implementatietrajecten. Dat kan in de vorm van een strategiesprint of visievormingstraject met een directie of beleidsmedewerkers. Maar ook in de vorm van een onderzoek onder medewerkers, klanten of burgers om een organisatie meer inzicht te geven in de wensen en behoeften op het gebied van DGI of interculturele communicatie. En in de vorm van het daadwerkelijk omzetten van die onderzoeksresultaten naar hoe de organisatiecultuur verbeterd kan worden, in de vorm van advisering, begeleiding en trainingen, lezingen en workshops.

Het Kennisplatform Inclusief Samenleven (KIS) draagt bij aan de kwaliteit van de Nederlandse samenleving tegen de achtergrond van de grote diversiteit in de etnische samenstelling van de bevolking door het doen van onderzoek, het agenderen van vraagstukken en het leveren van praktische producten en ondersteuning. Dat doet KIS samen met praktijkdeskundigen, beleidsmakers en professionals. In de KIS community worden zij rond concrete thema’s op het gebied van integratie en inclusie bij elkaar gebracht. Met inzet van hun kennis en ervaring uit praktijk en onderzoek wordt ingezet op concrete implementatie.KIS members zijn ervaren en getalenteerde (praktijk)deskundigen die zich bezighouden met maatschappelijke vraagstukken waarbij zij hun speciale expertise op het gebied van inclusie, integratie en samenleven willen inzetten.

Als senior adviseur/onderzoeker heb ik bij theRevolution met name gewerkt aan inclusieve dienstverlening. Samen met Gebruiker Centraal heb ik een kenniscommunity voor professionals in de publieke sector opgezet. Uit meerdere projecten licht ik graag de twee grootste toe:- Een onderzoek naar hoe de WW-uitkering ervaren wordt, in opdracht van het Ministerie van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid, in samenwerking met De Beleidsonderzoekers.- Onderzoek en co-creatie adviestraject bij de Gemeente Altena naar het beeld van dienstverlening binnen de organisatie. In nauwe samenwerking met Organisatieontwikkeling hebben we gewerkt aan het concretiseren van wat goede, inclusieve dienstverlening is, en wanneer je welke rol hebt als gemeente. Het resultaat is een inclusief dienstverleningsconcept met concrete handvatten.Advies- en ontwerpbureau theRevolution helpt publieke professionals om anders te kijken, te denken en te werken. Om vanuit sterkere relaties met mensen en echt begrip van hun behoeften de dienstverlening van je organisatie te verbeteren.

For the UU I worked as a lecturer, trainer and internship coordinator at the Master Intercultural Communications. I taught subjects like 'Communication, diversity and organisation'​, 'Intercultural consultancy'​ and 'Communication, organisation and crisis' and provided training on development of intercultural awareness for professionals who work for Utrecht University.Being a core teacher in the Master program, I worked on developing the master program with my teammates and guide students during their Master program. As an internship coordinator I guided students in finding an internship to suits their personality, skills and ambitions. In addition, I guided teachers in supervising internships in the most effective way.

Nijmegen Area, Netherlands

The Master program 'Duitsland-Nederland studies'​ is a collaboration between Radboud University and the WWU Münster. In two years students who are specifically interested in Dutch-German cooperation work on their Master in Nijmegen and Münster. This multidisciplinary Master program contains courses in the fields of History, Politics, Law, Cultural studies and Communication studies.As a lecturer I developed and taught the two courses 'Intercultural communicaton & management'​ and 'Intercultural communication', where the focus is - of course - on the Dutch-German constellation.Unfortunately, working for two universities was hard to combine, and I chose to continue working at Utrecht University. It has been a great experience!

The topic of my dissertation concerns the authentic use of Dutch-German receptive multilingualism in the border area. Receptive multilingualism is a communication mode in which the attendants speak their own language, thereby have enough receptive knowledge of the other language to understand each other. This language mode can be a true opportunity for the future in all areas where border-crossing communication takes place. It has many advantages, especially compared to English as a lingua franca. The research shows how the language mode is used both in civil society organisations as well as in governmental organisations. The interesting difference lies in the fact that receptive multilingualism is a bottom-up process in civil society, whereas in governmental organisations it is a top-down process, since the use of the mode is a result of language policy.The PhD project was a part of an interdisciplinary graduate school 'Negotiating processes of the civil society', funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. The work has started in January 2007 and was succesfully completed in January 2010 and rewarded with a Summa Cum Laude.The book is avaible at Waxmann Verlag in Münster (http://www.waxmann.com).

The company Imagic Concepts BV, located in Sittard, the Netherlands, designs and produces merchandise product for amusement parks. My job was to support the two owners of the company in marketing, sales and client contact.

The internship at CCI Europe was part of my Master education in Communication studies. I supported the PR and Marketing Department in this international company by rewriting a brochure of one of their two main products.
