I am a recent graduate from the University of Portsmouth with a good academic understanding of all fundamental geological principles. My drive has been my success during my degree and passion for geology.I am looking to pursue of career within the oil and gas sector. My current objective would be to get a job within industry. Preferably positions that are either offshore or in the consultancy and recruitment sectors; with a focus on skilled work, personal goals and incentives.The degree I undertook has given me an understanding of most aspects of the petroleum industry including; calculating oil/water and oil/gas contacts, interpreting borehole logs, play modelling and play formation, computer modelling (2D, 3D and 4D), geophysical and subsurface surveys or models and, oil and gas formation process.I also have experience with the principles of biostratigraphy and biostratigraphical programs. I completed a 3000 word report on Welsh graptolites with the aid of StrataBugs, a biostratigraphic computer program.Throughout my degree I also completed a series of field excursions adding to my field work knowledge set. The trips included traveling to Cyprus, Spain (Almeria and the Madrid Basin), the Isle of Wight, Portland and Lulworth Cove. I also completed 6 weeks worth of field work in the north east of Scotland for my dissertation thus equating to 3 months total field experience.
