Designed, managed and delivered research covering areas as diverse as energy and environmental policy, integrating new technologies into complex and established cultures and economically sustainable infrastructure development.Collaborated with global CEO and board-level sponsors to leverage research outputs, assisting in their application within the sponsoring organisation as well as using them to engage with global NGOs, local governments and investors.Selected Projects:- Maintenance management – 48 month multi-sponsor project focused on identifying best practice in deploying new technologies and Big Data applications within working environments which may have rigid cultural norms established over many decades; achievements subsequently recognised by the US National Academy of Sciences.- Infrastructure Risk - Minimising delivery and economic risk in major infrastructure projects- Long Term Sustainability – examination of the current and future competitive strategy of twenty-eight metros in terms of both economics and carbon emissions.- Future Energy Use – strategy and technology roadmap for commuter railways, covering energy efficiency, storage and the governance of “green tariff” electricity.- Investing for Punctuality - ongoing examination of punctuality at the world's largest passenger railway and investment appraisal of alternative improvement schemes.

Selected Projects:- Education and Access to Transportation - Designed, managed and delivered a major interdisciplinary research project, combining the objectives of two diverse sponsors; the Department of Education wished to better understand the relationship between educational achievement and transport poverty, while the Department for Transport needed to establish performance benchmarks for new smartcard technology. The project culminated in field studies which covered 2000 students and over 30,000 data points- City master planning - Supported the Government of Saudi Arabia in establishing the case for a new city economy based on healthcare, education and scientific research- Process design and change management - Designing and implementing a consolidated back office for the Ministry of Justice’s various tribunal courts- Private equity due diligence - Pre and post-transaction commercial due diligence and strategy across a variety of industries.
