In my current role, I’ve developed a diverse set of skills in selling garden room buildings. Using design software to create custom solutions has enhanced my technical proficiency and ability to match each customer with the perfect design. I take customers on guided showroom tours, explaining the features and options of each garden room in detail. I manage the quoting process, sending designs and estimates via email, followed by follow-up calls to maintain strong connections and nurture client relationships. Additionally, I actively participate in group training sessions, which have expanded my knowledge of garden building construction and ensured I’m thorough in every project by reviewing detailed checklists.

This job allows me to work on various days as a freelance retail worker in stores such as , John Lewis, Boots, M&S and Fenwicks. I have been able to learn about makeup, skincare and haircare products. Allocated on a concession stand within the department store then I will be representing the brand I am working for on that day which is decided by the agency manager.

3-month contract. Pushing high to achieve my daily target. Learning about merchandising products weekly from the team I would be allowed to learn and understand colour coordinating, seasonal section, sale rails, and more. Working in a team was the main focus, and alternating with tasks of the day whether this was tills, stock control, maintenance of folding, cleaning areas in the store, and fitting rooms.

This role opened a new window into luxury for me. I had a set task each week including, bookings, answering phone calls, searching for clients details, and organising the appointment schedules on the work laptop. On arrivals I would check in every person then offer a glass of bubbly or water. Sorting the dress rooms ready for the bride and her guest, and also the bridal stylist. Firstly I would find the dress in the stock closet where everything is labelled, making sure there is a face net for the bride to prevent smudging anything on the dress and gloves for the stylist and seamstress, as they will be in contact with the dress. I was allowed to be in a few of the fittings to hear and experience what a stylist role looks like and I would take notes on the language being used and questions to ask the bride. This was for a full days work which ends with locking up the store with the manager, doing the final checks around the building , and making sure everything is in order for the following day.
