I have worked in a number of different industries, and my focus in the future is in Oil & Gas with an interest in New Energy. My academic background is in Law, where I studied a combined Law and Management course at Robert Gordon University. I studied a broad range of subjects with an emphasis on Corporate, Company and Property Law in the legal side, and Corporate Governance and Business Ethics on the Management side. My early work experience was in retail, and I spent an number of years in a leadership position in a high-performing retail store. I developed excellent communication and team management skills, which proved very useful during my time in Sales, where I worked as a brand ambassador for reputable clients as part of an up and coming and award winning Sales and Marketing company. I really enjoyed my experiences in these sectors but it was always my ambition to utilise my academic qualifications, and recently I have been working in the legal department of a large E&P company based in the UK as a General Counsel Intern. I have been able to combine the people skills gained from previous work experience with my degree on a number of projects as part of the Ethics and Compliance function, including work on improving the company's KYC procedures and Due Diligence review of 3rd Party relationships. I have also gained valuable insight into the ever evolving New Energy sector by helping with legal documentation on an exciting forthcoming project.
