As a Director at Mazars, my role involves ensuring my clients needs are met, their objectives regularly reassessed and plans adjusted accordingly. This includes ensuring their investments are appropriate, pension plans relevant and any protection or other needs are met. I also manage the team in Milton Keynes and have responsibilities for ensuring that the wider team is operating effectively for all of our clients. This includes agreeing our business development activities and then ensuring that we continue to build the Mazars brand in Milton Keynes. I am also part of our national Entrepreneurial Business focus group helping to ensure that our offering in the local market both is consistent with our national approach and relevant to local companies. I also oversee the Mazars Graduate program and ensure that our trainees have both a challenging but rewarding journey with Mazars. The aim being that they become good quality client focused advisors after their training program.

As a Senior Manager at Mazars I maintain my role with both existing and new clients looking to help them with all of their Financial Planning needs. Be this retirement planning, investment planning or more simply looking at their goals and determining how they can be met and understand where the risks to this might be. I am also involved in our business development strategy primarily for our Milton Keynes office to ensure we continue to grow and remain client focused. I am involved in our graduate recruitment at manage a team of individuals and help them on their journey towards being Financial Planners.

Having been promoted to Manager grade, I retained my existing clients whilst taking on greater responsibility for managing a team of individuals at varying stages of their development, as they worked towards adviser status. The day to day job remained to look after existing clients and look to service new clients whilst being mindful of the staff having to work for a number of advisers and ensuring that the company was put first.

I look after a portfolio of clients to provide ongoing financial planning advice to their overall position whilst ensuring their investments continue to remain suitable. I also look to develop new client relationships in our central region, alongside our other planners in Milton Keynes and Birmingham. I also spend time with our paraplanning team ensuring that the overall workflow is managed and they understand the advice given to the clients to ensure our reports are complete efficiently and accurately to provide clients the output they require.

My role includes assisting Financial Planners with client queries, researching possible solutions and ensuring that our client workflow is managed efficiently.

I joined the firm as a graduate and began by learning the administration processes. I quickly moved into the Paraplanning team starting with simple client reports to much more complex strategies and solutions. I spent the time independently studying for my Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning which I completed in the two year period.
