Director Of Communications

A Palette For Change Inc.

United States

Collaborated with the Exec Board in creating a proposal for a project with cranes to advocate for pediatric cancer, which was inspired by the immortalized story of Sadako Sasaki (the story of 1000 cranes). I folded 1000 cranes in 2021 and as a team, we strung together the cranes of 15 hues to showcase at the front entrance of the Miller Branch Library from July 31 to August 9th, 2023. Additionally, I put together a video explaining our process and mission as well as a reel on Instagram to promote our work. We are working with the Nonprofit-Blossoms of Hope and in the process of making "Boxes of Hope" (shadow boxes stringed with cranes) and wind-chime products. We have connected with 4 high schools in Maryland and Pennsylvania to help create these products and contribute in folding 1000 cranes. Assisted in the process of filing our organization to become an officially registered nonprofit and was approved in Mid-December 2023.

In this role, I conducted research regarding the relation between emotions and visual perception. I designed an experiment and collected relevant data for analysis to test my hypothesis. I received resource recommendations from Professor Tsao from the California Institute of Technology and Professor Clore from the University of Virginia. I also interviewed Professor Wood from the University of Virginia and with their help, concluded my findings in a 28 page synthesis paper and a 10 minute presentation.
