Digital Distribution, Licensing Manger, Label Assistant, Promoter
My common day-to-day role at ClubClass involves various tasks such as; Digital Distribution of labels singles and albums. Before delivery, I ensure that all assets such as artwork, masters, and label copies are ready to be submitted and sold on all DSPs. Distribution companies I work with vary but I am most familiar with companies such as INgrooves, AMPsuite & The Orchards structures.Due to working with multiple labels, their needs differ so it is my responsibility to make sure I am their first contact when any problem occurs. Ultimately I maintain any general issues, metadata changes, takedowns or catalog clean-ups, etc when necessary. I am familiar with the UK’s PPL process with registering right holders' sounds recordings for performance and neighboring rights. My next job is then to gain as many Licensing deals as possible for all releases. In this role, I frequently keep in close contact with all licensees of all territories and negotiate an increased amount on their initial offer. I have signed hundreds of non-exclusive/ exclusive deals including Master use and synchronization over the last 5 years for Major and independent labels. Early this year I also enrolled on a Berklee online course in Music Licensing. This gave me extra inspiration, alternative ideas, and a view of different approaches and techniques to maximize the full potential of licensing, which I now exercise daily. I also touch base on the Accounts and administration sides, such as invoicing artists’ performance fees on a daily basis and overall management of all bank transactions of any kind. In doing this, I speak with club promoters, artist agencies, and industry associates, dealing with their needs of tax forms, contracts, and general requests needed to pay production/remix fees, royalties, artists' flights etc. In helping within this side of the business I have to keep a high demand of administration up to date and organized and keep good time management.
