I design, build and use bespoke light microscopes. The aim of my PhD is to develop novel imaging technologies that are not commercially available. My two main interests are light field and light sheet microscopy. I have built two systems that have been applied to a wide range of research projects accross the university. My work in developing these systems spanned a number of different diciplines - from optical and mechanical engineering, to computer vision and big data analysis. I am in the process of publishing this work and have presented at conferences as an invited speaker.

Recipient of the Institute of Physics' "Top 50 Work Placements Scheme" Award. My role was to identify and investigate potential market opportunities for novel semiconductor detectors. This included work on Richardson-Lucy deconvolution algorithms for industry standard radiation sensors. In addition to development of image reconstruction and feature detection algorithms (Maximum-Likelihood and Bayesian approaches) for spectroscopic CT imaging.
