Co-ordinate secretaries and all doctors annual leave, sick leave and absence within the division of Anaesthetics and Surgery. To write any required policies and procedures and to ensure that these and existing ones are followed by the secretaries. To ensure the smooth running of the day to day service of the secretariat. To update and organise the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Senior Divisional Nurses diaries. To type and format communications. To order stationary for the division. To organise the rotas for the doctors and distribute as necessary. To copy general administration tasks such as photocopying and filing.Medical Secretary to 2 Consultants, 2 registrars and 2 Senior House Offices. Audio/copy text typing of correspondence to GPs, Patients and Other Doctors. Answering telephone enquiries from the above people and directing as appropriate. Filing to ensure patient records are kept up to date. Organising Consultants operating/personal diaries. Rebooking operation procedures as appropriate. To provide cover and assistance to other secretaries as and when required.
