Heisei Planning was founded as a company to provide procurement services for Tatsuki Swimming Club. It has since expanded into offering other back office accounting and bookkeeping services. I decided to join Heisei Planning as an executive tasked with diversifying and expanding their revenue streams through new business opportunities.

After completing the post acquisition integration of Just Energy Japan for Astmax Energy, I was hired as an independent contractor to provide services for their daily operations.♦ Provided data management and database operations for the Retail Operations Data Mart♦ Consulted on their customer facing website♦ Delivered technical support for website interfaces

In 2018, I relocated to the company’s newly founded subsidiary in Japan that aimed to serve customers in the recently deregulated markets there. I transitioned from Director of Business Information Systems to Director of IT and Operations. In this new role, I led Ops team, consisting of call center and billing agents. I addressed all IT issues by leveraging Just Energy resources and external vendors. I also acted as product owner, and supervised teams in responding to client inquiries and meeting their needs. ♦ Tasked software development and digital marketing teams in Canada and UK to create website for Just Energy Japan in preparation to enter the Japanese market; increased sales by 4,000% in one year and acquired 1,500 customers in just two years.♦ Introduced technological solutions to permit newly established Just Energy Japan to enter the market.Prior to Japan, I was the Director of Business Information Systems for Hudson Energy where I directed software engineering teams with the development of upgrades and feature enhancements for core business information systems. In this position, I established and maintained effective communication, transparency, and feedback between developers, users, vendors, and customers to achieve enterprise objectives. I also directed production support teams in international markets serving the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), and Canada. ♦ For Hudson Energy, successfully migrated 4 billing systems to various markets, including Texas, OH/IL, and CA.♦ Augmented matrix price generation for brokers and secured automated long-term deals for key UK users.♦ Boosted gross margin for Hudson Energy by over $2M in one year by enhancing features and introducing a new method of prioritizing project requests, moving the focus from user stories to user-expected features.

As portfolio manager, I directed $30M in annual capital expenditures, supervising three project portfolios. I strengthened the PMO by consolidating multiple PMOs into one. In addition, I integrated newly acquired businesses, developing clear directives for all program initiatives and outcomes. I guided project managers and software development teams to improve communication, visibility, and decision-making practices. I collaborated with staff, project stakeholders, and vendors to acquire feedback and implement Agile practices to assess value, ROI (return on investment), and profitability. I restructured frameworks to meet timetables, deadlines, and budget requirements, and upgraded system projects to ensure conformance with mandatory regulations.♦ Instigated and implemented standardized protocol to create one centralized PMO to efficiently manage $30M in capital expenses.♦ Orchestrated the acquisition and merger of Bounce Energy with Direct Energy Residential, allowing the company to advance its digital technologies.♦ Cultivated 5K+ new customers in eight months with the launch of “New Leaf Energy,” a Green-e certified brand offering 100% renewable energy for Texas customers. ♦ Rolled out digital components in phases to expedite delivery; increased self-enrollment sales with brand-by-brand deployment.

I defined and administered PMO policies for the Commercial and Industrial division of Direct Energy, Texas. As consultant, I ensured that the practices implemented aligned with the already-established PMO used by Direct Energy’s Residential division. I oversaw high-risk projects for Direct Energy. Additionally, I trained and mentored staff teams, verifying proper utilization and implementation of tools and methodologies to meet technological and business objectives. ♦ Successfully salvaged failed attempts to consolidate billing platforms, one of which resulted in $25M loss, initiating the successful upgrade of critical EDI transaction processing platform, giving the company confidence to move forward with similarly complex projects.♦ Assisted in designing and developing curriculum materials for in-house Project Management School; provided instruction to staff.

I organized and directed 10-member teams. In this role, I guided staff through the entire software development cycle to design, code, and deliver programs and applications in conformance with our clients’ specifications. I regularly communicated effectively with all stakeholders to establish, maintain, and improve rapport. ♦ Spurred successful release of four new business applications for Tenet Healthcare.
