I have worked in after school care for 2 years now, which involves caring for children as well as facilitating and developing learning and craft activities that helps their overall learning development. I currently work with children between the ages of 5-12, aiming to cater to this wide age group with the activities which I help curate.This work has been incredibly rewarding and beneficial to develop my learning and teaching skills when working in a school setting, expanding my communication skills with younger people, developing manageable techniques to better implement learning strategies and good behaviours

I have worked as a crochet teacher for adults for the first half of this year, teaching crochet skills from beginner to intermediate, educating people how to begin their crochet designs and how to do basic stitches. This has been beneficial in building up my teaching skills with an older audience as well as improving on my own crochet skills, encouraging further learning within visual learning.

As the Wellbeing Officer of the Unilodge residents committee in 2023 I gained a great understanding of the importance of wellbeing for students living in on campus accommodation. Through organising events, I gained an understanding of the type of activities that engage residents and enhance their well- being. Along with this I was able to work within the community, giving back to residents and creating a feeling of mindfulness and reward through the hundreds of wellbeing packs which I put together for residents. Through this role I gained skills in event planning.
