The Press Corps is a place for teens to process, interpret, reflect, and think critically about the art and media they engage with. The Press Corps empowers young people to use their voices, and share their opinions about art through discussion and writing practice.

A team of experienced young people who work in youth development and community organizing. Bring a new perspective to what best practices look like when programming or organizing with young people. From a youth perspective.- Thoughtfully interviewing young people with extensive experience in this work- Compiling and analyzing interviews along with previous research to draw conclusions and patterns- Structuring a research paper - Preparation and promotion for presentation

A board of about 20 members, working to support the decision-making and program planning of this Youth centered nonprofit. As a part of this board I contribute in these ways:-Gracefully design and deliver workshops for events on various topics including immigration, ageism, racism, and classism. -Thoughtfully make decisions pertaining to budget, fundraising, and other logistics.-Spearhead conversations about the future of the organization, giving a youth perspective on the mission, vision, and values of the organization. -Collaborate with other board members to create safe spaces and facilitate important conversations for young people in the community.

-Plan for school events including dances, themed spirit weeks, and assemblies, increasing the overall spirit and morale of the student body. -Collaborate with a team of people, making changes, to better the quality of education and strengthen relationships between students. -Served food and drink to 50+ customers per shift at school sports events, raising over $150 for ASB

TIPS (Teens In Public Service) places young people in partnering non-profit organizations serving the community. I was placed at NFFTY (National Film Festival for Talented Youth) and work as program management and marketing intern. At NFFTY I: - Edited 6 NFFTY Connect Youtube videos that help NFFTY engage with our alumni, prospective NFFTY filmmakers, and supporters in the time we aren't holding festival. - Generated 10+ social media graphics for NFFTY 2023 submission dates - Generated social media content for NFFTY Connects release including Youtube thumbnail designs and short TikTok videos- Watched and critiqued 20+ NFFTY 2023 film submissions - Wrote personal emails to 30+ youth media arts organizations and schools to incentivize them to participate in our summer filmmaking challenges- Created judging criteria for summer filmmaking challenges that would be accessible to first-time filmmakers and in line with NFFTY values

90.TEEN creates interest and opportunity for youth in radio and media arts while presenting the best in music that our community’s youth are listening to right now. At KEXP I: - Curate a 1-hour radio music program bi-monthly that airs Saturdays at 6AM for the KEXP audience- Attend mentor meetings and discuss strategy with experienced KEXP DJ

At the beginning of December every year, around 60 PNW artists sell their products in an annual holiday market. I have assisted in preparing and hosting this event for the past four years. I have also been selling my own work in this market for the past four years. I have been able to obtain these skills.-Warmly greeted new and returning customers, developing relationships resulting in customer loyalty. -Efficiently handled POS system transactions including, credit and cash exchanges to ensure seamless and accurate cash flow.-Implemented an aesthetically pleasing shop environment by methodically stocking 60+ products.-Maintained a clean and organized store environment daily by consistently restocking items when needed. -Swiftly and meticulously packaged 50+ customer orders per day (due to COVID).

RadioActive Youth Media is where young people discover public radio journalism and gain access to the skills, community and institutional resources that spur their growth as media makers. Through their stories, listeners of all ages gain a deeper understanding of young people whose voices are rarely heard by the greater public.

Given weekly training and workshop opportunities on various topics such as: -Youth voice and storytelling-Social media marketing-Graphic design and content curationAll in hopes of spreading news and information about the Pandemic to the target audience of youth in Seattle.
