• Design and develop a new feature for Simulink called TimingInfo. Develop APIs to capture the detailed time of each internal simulation phase such as simulation time and assessment time, using C++, Matlab and Javascript. Design Database schema and structure to support such feature and implement APIs to achieve DB input/output, using SQLite, C++ and Matlab• Benchmark and analyze the performance of Simulink Test Sequence. Design a new algorithm to optimize the Database usage and increase the general performance such as adding or editing symbols by 40-50%.• Support Simulink Test Manager UI. Develop and implement RESTful APIs to share data between front end and back end, using Javascript, JSON, Matlab and C++ and SQL.

• Propose new data compression algorithms called LZ4r and SnappyR by designing a new structure based on LZ4 and Snappy. Implement the compressor/decompressor in C++ and evaluate its compression ratio and speed, comparing to multiple popular compression algorithms.• Implement and improve STAR Code in C, with a new decoding scheduling algorithm and Intel's SSE technology. Benchmark and optimize the performance with various parameter configurations and compare it with other Reed-Solomon Codes such as Intel's ISA-L and Jerasure.• Develop software to collect data from various types of sensors with Arduino System. Design various types of real-time systems using microcontrollers and various digital ICs. Achieve network communications using CAN/CAN and LIN Protocols.• Design and implement a stackable file system running on Linux in C++, which uses Amazon’s S3 as backend storage, and automatically encrypts files using RC4 when uploading and decrypts files when downloading.
