CurrentSoftware Engineer position on MTV Infra team at Egnyte. Created and monitored high throughput backend services, working with client teams and PMs to assure delivery and scalability.This position touched many areas of the Egnyte software stack, including docker container design, writing server side code and endpoints, researching cloud tools/technologies for application in my projects, and APM tooling/metrics monitoring for ensuring service health.Highlights- General performance work to improve latency on important request flows that affected mission critical features such as folder listing and download. Provided analysis on the latency improvement of my work over legacy code, and the business impact.- Did a proof-of-concept for API caching on top of existing Egnyte services. Adapted an Nginx container for use as a reverse proxy to serve contents of large listings, which are a latency burden and hot topic given the scale of Egnyte. This solution still serves large listings and saves our in-memory caches a significant workload.- Developed a cloud-leveraged storage for our Partner Integrations team, using Google's Firestore and GCS buckets. Worked in the context of a multi-quarter project timeline to build the service, respond to internal client feedback, and build internal tooling for the management of cloud services from our end.
