My role is to empower charities to embrace and use information to their advantage. I believe that great things are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people working together. I'm a good communicator with a problem-solving attitude and a strong urge to learn. I don't pretend to have the solution, that's something we will build together. I really enjoy working with charities, learning and understanding how they work, their problems and frustrations, what works well for them, what they want to change or keep, along with some advice here and there on database best practice. If there is a problem then working together to solve it is the way forward, none of this 'what you should do' stuff, it's all about what the charity wants to achieve, and they know more about their services than I could ever begin to conceive.Working with charities and organisations in the third sector. From the smallest up to larger organisations such as Mind. Supporting people in need from Homelessness, Brain injury, domestic violence, financial difficulties, young people, Loneliness, Senior Citizens, FGM, Autism, Family support, just to name a few. The invaluable work that small charities do for us all is just amazing.I love to learn about processes and systems, the information they consume, and how this can be reported on and used. Coming from, in the distant past, an IT career as a computer programmer it all about just that. Bringing together experience in the third sector, teaching, the IT world is, I think, a great combination for supporting charities for that database that does the job.Still reading this far down?
