Summary of ExperienceStrategic Marketing:By analyzing market environments and understanding consumer needs I have been able to create focused and actionable marketing plans to guide all marketing efforts for several large organizations. This work included segmentation and positioning through advertising and digital content to grow in the crowded HR industry. Developing a marketing mix, including new products, for HP’s partner sales program. And, brand identity development for hundreds B2B and B2C companies.Marketing Implementation:Successful implementation of a marketing strategy requires coordination, resource allocation, and close monitoring to ensure that the plan is effectively translated into real-world actions. In the area of advertising, I’ve created and managed PPC campaigns, banner and online advertising. Content creation including video, is often a large part of promotion and the goal behind the blogs I’ve created. Email marketing is less effective these days but, I’ve achieved impressive results through the LinkedIn platform. Other programs I’ve implemented made use of my skills in SEO, product launches, event planning, social media and AI.Creative:I’ve worked as a graphic designer on the agency side and in-house at technology companies. Initially, I worked for three years redesigning Safeway’s private label packaging and completed similar programs for Fanta, Unilever, Nestle and Philip Morris. I then moved on to designing and extending dozens of brands and associated corporate assets for tech companies in Silicon Valley including Intel, HP, Ascend, and Lenovo. I’ve designed over fifty websites, and user interfaces. Team Leadership:As a team leader, I inspire my team, provide direction, facilitate communication, and create an environment that fosters productivity and growth. I’ve managed creatives with diverse skills including design, coding, writing, accounting, sales and PR. Currently, I conduct online training sessions for salespeople who want to use social media more effectively. Employee/Business Management:I have owned and operated two marketing agencies, one analyst firm and a social media platform company. I defined the roles needed to succeed and then hired and trained hundreds of employees over 20 years. My role often changed -- I managed all accounting functions including taxes, purchasing and implemented new technology, setting budgets and defining work processes. I also hired and trained employees, wrote employee handbooks, managed payroll, 401k and stock options.
