I started this position after my previous employer ran out of work to keep me on with them. I am doing Design Drafting using AutoCAD. I am have been a part of many different jobs at this company. Everything from Topographic Surveys, Administrative Plats, ALTA Surveys, Road Construction Plans, and much more. I am very lucky to have found this job. I got laid off at the end of November 2008. I am sure many people know what the job market was like then and still is today. I am very happy to say that I am kicking off my 13th year of AutoCAD experience with this company, and if there is one thing I have learned it is that I learn something new every single day.

Hand sketched field information along proposed fiber optic telephone route. Used AutoCAD to draw hand sketched information from the field. This also included designing the best route for the proposed fiber optic line within the designated right of way. Also the drawing of As-Built plans for the telephone companies records. With a set of approved plans, approved by each City, where the work would be done, I began the process of obtaining all necessary construction permits for the fiber optic line in each City. Inspected the installation of the fiber optic line. Layout proposed location of fiber. Using standards set by the telephone company and specific City, I insured proper installation of the fiber by monitoring work of all sub-contractors and their crews. With a set of approved plans recorded all As-Built information along fiber route. ( fiber depth, splice locations, manhole and handhole locations, and slack loop locations).
