Rusty Thomas is a retired Tax partner, having previously worked in the Silicon Valley office of KPMG, and also served as the National Tax Leader, Technology Sector. Rusty served as lead tax partner on a number of leading technology clients of KPMG.KPMG ExperienceRusty had 30 years of experience in serving high technology clients in Silicon Valley with KPMG, and 36 years of total high technology and taxation experience. He was responsible in assisting global companies on both outbound and inbound tax related issues, including M&A due diligence and integration, international structuring and IP planning, foreign tax credit planning, Subpart F analysis, transfer pricing, and repatriation planning.Rusty also has extensive experience with ASC740 (FAS109) accounting principles and applications, and was recognized as one of the Firm’s leading ASC 740 professionals. While at Broadbase, he participated in the successful closing of a secondary public stock offering and oversaw the due diligence and integration process for seven acquisitions.From June 2001 through March 2003, Rusty was the Chief Financial Officer of Shoretel, then a ventured-backed emerging technology company.
