About Ruth C.
Ruth Caruso has been working in the Hollywood Entertainment Industry for over 15 years and it all started in the mailroom of United Talent Agency in 1993.Making her way onto a Television Literary desk at UTA from the mailroom, she developed strong relationships with some of the biggest rising stars in the comedy business including performers, writers and directors. She was quickly recruited by the soon-to-be President of Entertainment and segued to the burgeoning WB Network. After working on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and many other high impact pop culture projects, Ruth moved onto a new business model that would soon change the television landscape: importing and redeveloping British formats. As the Director of Development for Pearson Television she was charged with packaging international formats for the domestic marketplace. Next up: Henson Television. Ruth became the Head of Primetime Development during a new phase for the company. The creative reins had just been turned over by the family and it was time for the brand to be reinvigorated. After successfully landing numerous network projects and producing two films the company was resold and Ruth moved on and up to a start up production company at Disney. The success of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire afforded the company’s principal the opportunity to launch a shingle where Ruth could stretch her storytelling abilities into non-fiction long form development as well as tread on her experience in scripted programming. From here she launched into her producing deal with partner Carson Daly at NBC Uni.From a BA in Political Theory and a minor in Cinemas Studies from New York University to Pacifica Ventures, Ruth has always been fueled by a passion for ideas and the instincts to make them happen.
