International projects include training, technical editing and advising on hazardous waste cleanup.

Research into environmental pollution in Europe, India, Latin America; surveyed waste stockpiles at Union Carbide site in Bhopal and designed cleanup strategies; represented Greenpeace International at the Basel and Barcelona Convention and in various national regulatory fora; elucidated contaminants in PVC toys and lobbied towards their ban in the EU; numerous publications including a book on the environmental effects of the chlorine industry

Awarded status of Research Associate of the University of London.Co-founder of the Greenpeace International Science Unit.Designed and executed environmental surveys of organic and inorganic pollutants from sites worldwide; devised and applied novel analytical techniques and wrote papers reporting findings.Published scientific papers on subjects including: novel analytical methods; failings in pollution regulation regimes; the Precautionary Principle and Clean Production. Represented Greenpeace International at the Basel Convention and the Barcelona Convention. Set up computer database for Unit research library.

Researched and co-authored submission to London Dumping Convention on the environmental impacts of incineration of hazardous wastes at sea, a practice that was subsequently banned
