Retired after twenty years in the United States Coast Guard, first as a Fire Control Technician and then as an Electronics Technician, with over half of it as a shop supervisor. Worked for the State of Alaska as a supervisor for the Alaska Public Safety Communications Services (APSCS) before shifting over to be a certified teacher for the state. Experienced in the maintenance and repair of multiple radar and radio systems. I have worked with several agencies, both federal and state, during my professional career as well as non-profits and social services. Also experienced as a Victim Advocate having served as one in the Coast Guard as well as volunteering as a hospital advocate for sexual assault survivors in San Antonio, TX. Currently have a pubic seat with the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (CDVSA) for the state of Alaska. Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in History from Ashford University and a Masters in Education with Grand Canyon University.
