In pressure control I maintain, repair and install gas fixtures in the network to ensure gas pressures are at a safe level before reaching residential & commercial properties. This includes valve and regulator maintenance, pipe work inspections and commissioning new installations. All work is carried out and completed in line with the legal obligations set out in the health and safety regulations. Other duties include supervising work on sites as well as being environmentally compliant with gases and other special waste used within the network.

I assist with pitch side Video Assistant Referee (VAR) equipment. Complete set up of video and audio equipment at stadiums in Scotlands Premier Football League. This includes fibre networking setup, testing all equipment and repairing or replacing equipment as and when required. Communication is a key part in this role as I have to liaise with the match officials, club representatives, Scottish Football Association (SFA) and television broadcasters providing updates in relation to onsite testing of the equipment and confirming the audio being used by the match officials is at the sound quality level required.

As an Openreach network engineer I have gained extensive experience and knowledge in repairing and installing copper and fibre products as well as cabling and jointing. This also includes the Openreach infrastructure from telephone exchange switching equipment all the way to customers equipment including underground and overhead network. I was also part of the ongoing planning and implementation project of the fibre roll out in the North Fife, Tayside and Perthshire areas, always working to the highest quality standards.
