About Ryan Chen
I've been working as a Firmware Engineer nearly eight years. I'm good at developing embedded system on Linux with C/ C++ and script language as PYTHON/ LUA/ SHELL. For the code review and maintain or issue tracking, I have used SVN, GITLAB, JENKINS, BUGZILLA and JIRA.In my lately job, I work for the company which makes the server. I'm responsible for BMC FW development which includes analyzing issues, making spec, creating tools for stress test and releasing FW image. During the project, I've learned many skills and knowledge of the server as IPMI, REDFISH, some important features related platform porting as SEL logs, I2C devices, sensors and OEM features. Besides, I've worked with other departments as Project Manager, Bios, Hardware, Thermal, and test team about schedule, customer requirements, some co-work features, and issue debugging.In my first job, I participated in some projects related to TV. I was responsible for the UI and its behavior design, the function link of remote control, multi-language settings, the UART function for factory, and porting function. I also had the experience of business trip in Korea. I was on-site support in customer's company. I discussed issue with the customer, checked the symptom of issues directly on customer's factory, transferred their ideas and requirements to our team in Taiwan, and handled all problems as soon as possible.When I was a institute student, I used the micro controller of TI MSP430 for developing the intelligent meter. During the institute, I learned how to use layout tool for creating circuit of the meter and trace the circuit. And I also wrote the firmware in the controller to implement some features of intelligent meter which read the power information from end devices as air-con or some electric products; control the end devices with MODBUS commands.
