Venues Project Manager
Project Management of the Overlay construction of various non-competitive venues for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.I had responsibility for four venues across central and west London, focusing on allowing smooth running of the transport aspects of the Games. The role involved providing secure facilities for workforce and vehicles, and included managing the provision of temporary accommodation, utilities, civil works, security fencing, statutory requirements, and liaison with landowners.During operations, the role switched to facilities management, dealing with issues quickly as and when they arose. One incident in particular I diagnosed and resolved was a significant sewage ingress from an unknown source into an underground vehicle fleet depot. At peak, this was rated as one of the most significant risks to the Olympic Games.
Design And Construction Manager
Management of a Design Consultant developing detailed design drawings for the Mayor of London's flagship Barclay's Cycle Hire Scheme. Sole responsibility for quality reviews, feedback, issue resolution, and timely submission to the Client.Concurrently, and subsequent to managing the design process, I had Construction Management responsibility by managing a team of Construction Supervisor's looking after the build phase. this involved dealing with escalated on-site issue resolution, commercial aspects (under NEC), technical advice, and regular liaison with sub-contractors. My final aspect of the project was the management of installation crews and supervisors to successfully meet strict and very tight deadlines to install all on-street equipment for 335 Phase 1 sites in a three week period. Meeting this highly publicised launch date contributed to the overall success of the project, and allowed progression into Phase 2 and Phase 3.
