I am currently a student at Salem State University, where my journey into Media andCommunication began. My diverse experiences at Salem State have helped to shape myunderstanding of the power of storytelling and community connection. I also feel it has well prepared me for what it might be like working in the media and communication field.At WMWM 91.7, I found my voice as a radio host, curating and presenting "The Sawblade ofMetal" show. Through music and engaging conversations with local bands, I discovered theability to create a vibrant community on air. Alongside hosting duties, I took on roles asTreasurer and Secretary, diving into the behind-the-scenes of station management, learning theropes of financial management and effective communication.Beyond the radio station, I found myself as a Desk Receptionist at a residence dorm. Here, Iensure the safety and support for all residents and visitors. From late-night chats to assisting withdorm logistics, every interaction has added a layer to my understanding of community building.Recognized for academic excellence, earning a spot on the Dean's List and induction into theLambda Pi Eta honor society, I've honed a balance between scholastic achievements andextracurricular activities.Looking ahead, I see a path where creativity intersects with community impact. I'm eager to explore career opportunities within the field of media and communication, and hope to foster vibrant communities along the way.
