I have 11 years of active duty Army experience as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. Deployed 3 time in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (04-05, 07-08, 09-10). While in the Army I got introduced to electronics and simple trouble shooting of vehicle electrical systems. I later expanded my knowledge into fuel injection controls and built a MegaSquirt ECU kit and installed it into a 1964 Ford Falcon. As my understanding of electronic grew I began playing with some entry level programming and printed circuit board layout. I developed a PCB using Express PCB's design software and Picaxe code editor to write the controlling logic in basic stamp. Previous projects include a transmission controller for a 4R70W Ford late model transmission. I found a 98ish year model transmission in a salvage yard in CA. The 4R70W is a 4 speed automatic with overdrive. 2 shift solenoids determine which gear is activated and a electronic pressure control valve maintains hydraulic pressure and a torque converter lock up solenoid to lock the converter one to one with engine speed.
